Something happened- I was close to shutting this down. It’s a long story and I’m not going to elaborate on this. I decided, eventually, to keep Have Love Will Travel going, but for many different reasons it sports a fresh new look, I got rid of the old postings and most importantly: what you’re reading is English. You might ask yourself why I’d desert my German heritage and make life so much more difficult on all those illiterate monolinguals. Yeah, suck it. The truth is, I’m preparing this old lady for a broader, rather international audience. It’s in the spirit of being more outgoing and exploring (and it’s also the only other language I speak). It’s so easy to be connected nowadays, you might want to put in that last bit of effort to meet many new friends and people from all around the world.

And that’s just not happening in German.

Uh, wait, what is this again?

So what exactly am I doing here? I’ll just repeat what I’ve said so many times before: I have no idea whatsoever. When I woke up on the first of January 2010, fully regenerated from a rather unspectacular New Year’s Eve, I had the crazy idea to just pack up my things and leave. For some reasons, that idea stuck with me (even I thought this was just going to be a silly quarter life crisis with a pinch of bipolarity. Well how about that..). I’m still on it, still hot for it, still planning. Like a mad person. People have unfriended me on Facebook because I can’t stop talking about it. And guess what? I’m doing it. Really? Really.

I’m taking off this October after months and months of living like a brainless monk for an epic one year trip around the world. This blog is supposed to accompany me during all my preparations and will substitute the lame pen and paper diary on the road. Look at this noble service! My mother will never have to worry about me again, and you might just want to tag along for a wild ride…
